| Note: Due to rescheduling, the talks by Marc Staves and Gib Brown will both occur on January 9th |
- January 9: "So You Want to Buy a Telescope?"
Marc Staves is an avid amateur astronomer and president of the Adirondack Public Observatory. An electric department lineman by day and an amateur astronomer by night, Marc brings along a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding telescopes and astronomy. He will also have some holiday surprises to give away and maybe even a visit from… well, you’ll have to come to find out!

- January 9: "Winter Observing… Behind the View"
Gib Brown, among his many faces, is also a trustee of the Adirondack Public Observatory. His
expertise in meteorology and earth science along with his interest in astronomy will combine to explain why amateur astronomers, especially those of us with “day” jobs, “weather” some of the most frigid nights of winter in search of celestial prizes.

- January 16: "January Skies… Leo to Pegasus and Beyond"
Gordie Duval is a Physics and Astronomy teacher at Tupper Lake High School and a trustee of the APO. As one of those people with a “day” job, Gordie especially enjoys observing in the winter and with his cold weather experience, he brings some suggestions and tips for making the most of those winter evenings. Come along for a tour of the January skies.
